Infinix on the other hand was founded in 2013, making them 7 years younger than Tecno but, they’ve proved themselves to be intelligent game players. In fact, there are rumours that they will be leading the market by next year.

The Contest

Generally, when thinking of getting a new phone, there are certain things to put into consideration, this includes Display, Camera, and storage, to name a few. To evaluate our two “warriors”, we will be working with the following context in 4 rounds head-to-head competition.
*. Display and Comms.
*. Storage, OS, and Processor.
*. Battery, Camera, and Media.
*. Price

Round 1 – Display and Comms.

Hot 4 Rundown
Infinix Hot 4 is accompanied by a 5.5″ HD display of 720×1280 pixels with 267 PPI. With this, HOT 4 delivers a memorable user experience. Comms modules are Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-usb 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 & Wi-Fi Hotspot, 3.5mm jack, A-GPS, 2G, 3G, and dual mini sim.
W5 Rundown
Tecno W5 comes with a 5.5″ HD Display of 720×1280 pixels screen as well, but the 300 PPI density Placed it a step ahead of the Hot 4. This even gives it a more seamless and digital display which wows the mouth. Tecno went another extra mile in their comms with the following modules. Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-usb 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi Direct & Hotspot, 3.5mm jack, A-GPS, 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and dual mini sim.

Winner – Tecno W5

With the information above, I must admit, W5 wins this round, “counter-attacking” all of the Hot 4’s points and still leaving 2 points of 300 PPI as against 267 PPI from Hot 4, and the latest mobile internet connection technology – 4G.
The Hot 4’s features are great, they are just not enough to knock the W5 over.

Round 2 – Storage, OS, and Processor

Infinix Hot 4 Rundown
The Hot 4 sports a 16gb Internal memory and an SDcard slot of up to 32gb. These when combined together seems it will take a lifetime to fill up, it depends on usage though. Running the 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7, MediaTek MT6580 Chipset, Mali-400MP2 GPU, along with Android 6.0 marshmallow and a host of 2000mb (2gb) RAM, the Hot 4 is not in anyway slowed down by heavy processes from apps with heavy graphics, like Frontline Commando or StarWars. Its operations are carried out smoothly.
Tecno W5 Rundown
The W5 is ready for the Hot 4 as it is armed with 16gb internal memory and expandable up to 64gb with the use of SDcard.
Tecno goes further by Installing MediaTek MT6753 chipset as the processor. As against Hot 4’s MT6580, which is a 32-bit quad-core processor, MT6753 is a 64-bit Octa-Core processor based on ARM Cortex-A53, which in ARM’s words is “between 2-3 times more efficient…” and the ARM Mali-T720 for the graphics.
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow which could be described as awesome along with the processor above, there is no need to question why Tecno decided to install a token of 1gb of space for the RAM.

Winner – W5

This is a no-brainer, the Hot 4 didn’t even stand a chance against the W5. No option, we gotta give it to W5.

Round 3 – Battery, Camera, and Media

Infinix Hot 4 Rundown
The Hot 4 comes with a 4000mAh Li-ion Battery, which takes a long time use before it runs down.
It sports an 8mp camera with dual LED flash as the primary camera and a 5mp camera with soft flash as the secondary camera.
Media and alert types include vibration, MP3 ringtones, loudspeaker and the 3.5mm jack for the earpiece, Image viewer and editor, ability to play MP3, MP4, and WMV files.
Tecno W5 Rundown
Tecno made a slightly wrong decision on the battery part, the W5 sports a 3000mAh Li-ion battery. It’s strong as well but 3000 can never be compared to 4000.
It sports a 13mp camera with LED flash as the primary camera and 5mp camera also with soft flash as the secondary camera.
Media and alerts features are: vibration, MP3 ringtones, loudspeaker, 3.5mm jack, MP4/MPEG4/H.263/H.264 player, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC player, image viewer and editor, FM radio.

Winner – Tie

I would have gladly given this round to W5 but the battery strength stopped me, no matter how great a phone’s specs are, if it lacks a strong battery, it’s all useless. And though it has the default ability to play some media files which the Hot 4 can’t, with the help of players like MX player and VLC player, that’s an history.

Round 4 – Price

Great phones! One might remark, but what if they are too expensive for an average consumer.
Infinix Hot 4 Rundown
What I found here isn’t what I expected, the Hot 4, when compared with the W5 is too expensive for its features, it goes for #55,495 on Konga.
Tecno W5 Rundown
I was disappointed here, initially, I was expecting the W5 to be more expensive than the Hot 4 but that’s not the case here, with those exclusive features, W5 goes for #53,000 on Konga, making it #2000+ cheaper than the Hot 4.

Winner – W5

You might say Hot 4 ought to have won this round, but In reality, thing here is more price for more value . Asides battery, the W5 beats the Hot 4 in every possible way.

Denouement

. With three winnings from W5 and a tie with the Hot 4, I must give it all to W5 as the winner of this head-to-head competition. Though I must mention that the Hot 4 is not all that a loser, the features are great and you will surely get the right value for your money.
