Display, Storage and Platform
Being a mid range device, the redmi note 4 ships with a 5.5 inches IPS LCD.
Not just the size, it comes with 401 ppi pixels density, 1920*1080 pixels resolution and glass protection.
Just the same display features with the Moto g5s which was released in 2017 .
Moving on to the memory, the redmi note 4 packs a whole lot of 3gb or 4gb RAM for smooth multitasking and operations – depending on the version you got.
And the ROM comes in two variants as well, 64gb ROM for the redmi note 4 high version and 32gb ROM for the redmi note 4 standard version.
If for any reason – which only you can explain, the storage is too small for you, there’s an SdCard support of up to 256gb. Just pop it in through the second sim slot.
Bearing all the functions of this device on their shoulder are the CPU, GPU and the OS.
Xiaomi runs MediaTek CPUs on some of their devices but also run Qualcomm. The redmi note 4 runs Qualcomm.
It sports a powerful Cortex-A53 Octa-Core CPU with 2.0GHz clock speed, Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset and Adreno 506 GPU.
Like Lenovo vibe p2, it sports Android 6.0 marshmallow which as at this time is upgradable to v7.0 nougat if you want to.
Impressive!!
Camera and Media
For selfie lovers, Xiaomi added a 5MP front camera with dual led flash. Pictures are clean and crystal clear and you can share your selfie with confidence.
For the rear camera, the redmi note 4 features the 13mp lens + dual led flash combo. Features include phase detection, autofocus and aperture is f/2.0
For the media aspect, we have our Audio player, Video Player, Sound recorder, Video recorder, Photo shooter, Photo editor, FM Radio and 3.5mm jack for headphones.
Great! Next??
Battery and Comms
Xiaomi is one of the companies known to place a very huge value on battery life – and yes, they’re good at it, just like Nokia.
A testimony to this is the Mi max 2’s battery which is 5300mAh Li-ion battery and known to last up to 74 hours of talk time on 3g and now, the redmi note 4 features a whopping 4010mAh non-removable Lithium Ion battery.
Long hours of usage is guaranteed – theoretically up to 67 hours. And furthermore, it comes with fast charge technology for quick recharge on low power.
Comms? Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi direct, Hotspot, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1 with LE and A2DP, microUSB with USB OTG, 2G, 3G and 4G LTE
Xiaomi redmi note 4 Price in Nigeria
From the review above, you’ll probably know that this is a midrange but very functional device from Xiaomi.
It’s between the #75,000 – #100,000 price range. Getting one shouldn’t be so hard.
Alternative Device
The only device currently offering this device a challenge is Lenovo vibe p2 . You should see the review.
The m7 is also another interesting device, this one’s from Gionee. The Tecno i7 is good as well, going for Samsung? It’s definitely the Galaxy s8. Or you wanna stick with Xiaomi? The Vibe k5 is interesting, you’d be impressed.
