Although not the latest device from Apple, the iPhone 8 plus is a recent and sophisticated device with some interesting features. The iPhone 8+ however, is an upgrade to the iPhone 8 which sports a 4.7 inch IPS display with 750 x 1334 resolution and 326 PPI density, 74/256gb ROM, 2gb RAM, no sd card slot, 12MP rear camera and 7MP camera all powered by a meagre 1821mAh Li-ion battery.I can’t lie about this, I’m not a big fan of iPhones, so don’t expect me to impressed. I’m absolutely not.
Now that we’ve seen what’s in the iPhone 8, let’s quickly find out what we have in the plus.

Now that we’ve had a quick glance, let’s break it all down in the review.
Display, Storage and Platform
The iPhone 8+ straps on a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen on a 158.4 x 78.1 x 7.5 mm body.
Featuring 401 PPI pixels density on 1080*1920 resolution, the display is crystal and graphics come out as if when alive.
This “flagship” from Apple comes in two storage variants, one sports 64GB ROM while the other sports 256GB ROM but both variants come with 3GB RAM
Under the hood lies an Apple A11 Bionic chipset, Hexa-core (2x Monsoon + 4x Mistral) CPU and Apple GPU (three-core graphics).
Breakdown
Chipset == 64-bit
Hexa-Core == 6 cores
Monsoon == 2.53GHz x 2
Mistral == 1.42GHz x 4
The iPhone 8+ comes with iOS 11 out of the box but it’s upgradable to iOS 11.2. That’s good news.
Camera and Media
For the camera, It sports a 7mp lens with f/2.2 aperture as the front camera with a soft flash and then a 12MP cameras which features f/1.8 aperture with OIS and another 12MP camera with f/2.8 aperture at the back with a quad flash.
For the media aspect, we have our Audio player, Video Player, Sound recorder, Video recorder, Photo shooter, Photo editor but no 3.5mm jack for headphones.
Battery and Comms
As it’s been earlier mentioned, it sports a 2691mAh which I consider to be a very low battery capacity. It sports the fast-charge technology which helps it charge up to 50% in 30 mins.
Comms? Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi direct, hotspot, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0, 2G, 3G and 4G.
iPhone 8+ Price in Nigeria
As at the time of writing this article, the iPhone 8+ between the #320,000 to #440,000 on jumia. The price depends on your location and seller.
Alternative Device
Apple fans don’t really look towards another market in the smartphones industry. But in case you’re thinking of an alternative, then I suggest you go for some other Android flagships like the Phantom 8 and Zero 5.
