If you’ve been with us for a while you might have gone through the specifications of these smartphones in their single articles. However, since you wish to see them compared side by side, (else you won’t be on this page) let’s get into it quickly. But remember to share this article once you’re through. Thanks.

Design and Display
Talking of design, these phones are really beautiful – well, same as a million others – but are visibly different from one another. This however, does not clear out certain similarities.
The similarities found in the TECNO Camon 15 and the INFINIX S5 Pro include the camera alignment, the control buttons and fingerprint sensor location and the loudspeakers, microUSB port and 3.5mm jack location and arrangement.
On the frontal though, while the Camon 15 sports the now common punch hole to the top-left side of its display, the S5 Pro sports the new perfect view display which is really cool.
Another major difference in these phones are their sizes; with the S5 Pro being 6.53 inches while the Camon 15 extends to 6.6 inches. Also, the S5 Pro can be gotten in Nebula Black, Quetzal Cyan and Violet while the Camon 15 can be gotten in Shoal Gold, Fascinating Purple and Jade.
For the display, the S5 Pro does better than the Camon 15. While the former sports a 6.53 inches IPS LCD screen featuring 1080 x 2340 pixels and 395 ppi density, the latter features a 6.6 inches IPS LCD with lower resolution and pixels density which are 720 x 1600 and 266 ppi respectively.
Platform, Storage & Battery.
Now to the CPU which is force behind every smart gadget which determines its efficiency and it’s capacity, let’s see what these phones have to offer.
Both the TECNO Camon 15 and the INFINIX S5 Pro sports MediaTek’s SoC but different models. The S5 Pro comes with Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 (12nm) supported by an Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU. The PowerVR GE8320 comes along to handle the graphics and it’s clocked at 680MHz.
The Camon 15 on the other hand comes with Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm) which is powered by an Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and PowerVR GE8320 clocked at 650MHz for graphics processing.
Now would be a good time to let you know that the S5 Pro’s SoC is better than that of the Camon 15. That’s what affords it a higher display resolution, higher CPU and GPU speeds plus a few other things.
On storage, the Camon 15 comes as a single release while the S5 Pro comes as a double release. For the Camon, there’s 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM while the S5 Pro has 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB R0M versions. Both phones support sdCard through dedicated slots fixed on their sim plates.
Probably the part that gets people worried most is the battery capacity. Nobody wants to charge his/her battery too often. However, neither of these phones comes with a washy battery. The Camon 15 does better though.
The Camon 15 sports a built-in 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery while the S5 Pro comes with a 4,000 mAh Li-Po battery. Also built-in. Both devices come with fast charging. So, no issues on charge time.
Camera, Comms & Network
Rather unconsciously, camera has become a part of our daily lives. Hardly a day goes by that we won’t need to capture certain moments; and when we talk about capturing moments, you better get a camera that’ll do it well.
These phones, though from different makers, feature a somewhat close camera setup. At least, for the rear camera. But while the S5 Pro stops at 3 lenses, the Camon 15 adds another extra lens. Making it 4 rear cameras.
The Camon 15 features a 48 MP ultra-wide lens, 2 MP wide lens, 2 MP depth sensor and a QVGA lens which TECNO tells us nothing of its function and a 16MP selfie camera. The S5 Pro on the other hand features a 48 MP wide lens, a 2 MP, depth sensor and QVGA lens which Infinix claims to be a low light camera sensor.
These phones share the same connectivity and network features. While they have GPRS, HSPA and 4G LTE for the network technologies. Their connectivity include WLAN (Wi-Fi, hotspot), GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio and microUSB 2.0 with support for USB On-The-Go.
Price in Nigeria
As good as these phones are, neither of them is expensive. They’re both lower mid-range phones and they also fall between the same price range. Both the Camon 15 and the S5 Pro falls between NGN50,000 to NGN60,000 in Nigeria. That’s EUR120 to EUR130.
From the comparison above, the Infinix S5 Pro beats the Camon 15 Lite hands down. From the display to the chipset and CPU to the price, the Infinix S5 Pro has the upper hand. At that price range, it’s undoubtedly better than the Camon 15.
