Tecno Camon 12 Pro and Camon 12 Price in Nigeria

Tecno Camon 12 Pro and Camon 12 were released 10 months ago and 11 months ago respectively. That puts them in September and August 2019. These phones were (and still are) really good entry level smartphones and are succeeded by the Camon 15 devices which encompass 3 phones in total.

Since their release last year, these phones have witnessed both a hike and a drop in price. These hikes and drops are controlled mainly by the fluctuating exchange rate and at this moment, the covid19 pandemic is also a factor.

Before we go to the prices, let’s meet these phones.

The Camon 12 is a 6.52 smartphone whose body is a combination of glass at the front and plastic at the back and sides. Its display is IPS technology based and has a resolution of 720 x 1600 and 269 pixels per inch density. There’s no factory installed protection or coating for the display.

This Android based device comes with version 9; also known as Pie. The UI is handled by HiOS v5.5. The System on Chip is the Helio P22 from MediaTek. The chip is supported by an Octa-core (2.0 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and PowerVR GE8320 graphics processor.

The Camon 12 has a battery capacity of 4,000 mAh. The battery is built-in and cannot be removed without the use of mobile phone disassembling tools. The battery uses polymer electrolyte (better than liquid) and it charges pretty fast too.

There are 4 cameras found on this phone in total. 3 at the rear and 1 at the front. The combo at the rear which together serves as the main camera include a 16MP wide lens, an 8MP telephoto lens and a 2MP depth sensor. They are supported by a quad-LED flash. The single lens at the front is 16MP and also has a LED flash.

Other features are not mentioned here but you can check our Camon 12 full specs page for the rest. I’d like to mention though that this phone supports 4G LTE. Also, there’s only a single version which sports 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.

At the moment, the Tecno Camon 12 falls between NGN55,000 to NGN60,000 in Nigeria.

Tecno Camon 12 Pro

There are just a few difference between the Camon 12 and its Pro. These differences will be mentioned here but the similarities will be left out. Since they’ve been mentioned above.

Standing at 6.35 inches, the Camon 12 Pro is slightly smaller than its twin. The size though, however smaller it is, does not place the Camon 12 above it. But it’s a pity that the size is not the only thing small about it. Seeing as the battery is just 3,500 mAh.

The platform, which covers Android version, chip, CPU and GPU, are just the same. Same goes for the rear camera, ROM and the network support. The improvements we see are the RAM which is 6GB, the front camera which is 32MP and the fingerprint sensor which sits under the display.

Selling between NGN70,000 to NGN75,000 in Nigeria, the Tecno Camon 12 Pro is a bit expensive. Especially considering the fact that the Infinix S5 which is bigger, features the same CPU and same camera specs has its 128GB + 6GB RAM selling at about #80,000. Also, the Note 7 which is newer and definitely bigger and better (both in and out) has its 4GB + 64GB somewhere in-between NGN70,000 and NGN75,000 too.
