Seeing that Tecno and Infinix are closely related and even manufacture smartphones with similar features, it is only a matter of logic that we compare some of their recent smartphones to see what they both have to offer. In this case, that will be the new Tecno camon 15 and Infinix S5 Pro.
Tecno Camon 15 Pro vs Infinix S5 Pro: Design and Display
The Tecno Camon 15 Pro – like the Camon 15 – is a 6.6″ device and its body features comprises glass front, plastic frame and plastic back. The front camera however resides in a motorized pop up socket; thereby affording it a full screen display without any punch hole or teardrop as seen in Camon 15 and Spark 4 respectively.
The phone’s rear house the rear camera setup at the top-left side in a vertical lineup with the flash light coming immediately after the first sensor. Horizontally to the right, the fingerprint sensor is parallel with the last camera sensor, placing it somewhere towards the center-top. Right under the fingerprint sensor are the inscriptions ‘TECNO’. ‘Designed by TECNO’ ‘CAMON in a vertical lineup from the bottom up. It comes in 2 different colours which are Ice Jadeite and Opal White.
The control buttons are found on the right hand side while the left hand side is empty. The top of the phone house the selfie camera socket while the base houses the 3.5mm jack port, mic, microUSB 2.0 and the loudspeaker sound outlet. The Camon 15 pro measures 163.3 x 77.7 x 9.1 mm and weighs 203g. That’s light and sleek enough.
Now onto the display. The Camon 15 pro packs a 6.6″ perfect view IPS LCD with no camera holes anywhere. With 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 390 pixels per inch density, this smartphone renders graphics in crystal clear images. This is a large step away from the low-end display features seen in former Tecno devices; even some recent ones. It’s worth mentioning here that the face unlock is built somewhere at the upper part of the display but not in the selfie camera.
Infinix S5 Pro features almost the same design with the Camon 15 Pro but there are still some differences and these are outlined below. The Infinix S5 Pro is 6.53” in size; slightly smaller than the Camon 15 Pro. The fingerprint sensor is sitted at the traditional place on the phone’s rear with “INFINIX” printed right under it. However, it is not in any way aligned with any of the camera lenses because the S5’s rear camera setup is one lesser then that of the Camon 15 Pro’s
The Infinix S5 measures 162.5 x 76.9 x 9 mm and weighs 195g. That’s slightly lighter than the Camon 15 Pro. These are the only design differences in these 2 devices. Every other thing is found at exactly the same location. It is worth mentioning however, that the S5’s lower bezel is tinier than that of the Camon 15’s.
The Infinix S5 pro features a 6.53” perfect view IPS LCD with no camera holes anywhere. They also share the same resolution which is 1080 x 2340 pixels and 395 pixels per inch density.
Tecno Camon 15 Pro vs Infinix S5 Pro: Platform, Storage and Battery
The main things that determine the class of a smartphone include the engine that powers all its features, the storage size and absolutely the battery. This could be seen as the most important part of this duel.
The Camon 15 Pro runs Android 10.0 with HiOS handling the user interface on MediaTek’s chipset – MT6762 Helio P22 (12nm). With this comes a Cortex-A53 Octa-Core CPU with 4 cores having a max speed of 2.35GHz and the other 4 cores having a max speed of 1.8GHz. Handling graphics for this smartphone is PowerVR GE8320.
On storage, the Camon 15 Pro features 128 gigabyte of internal storage and 6 gigabyte of RAM. The internal storage is expandable by a microSD through a dedicated slot.
Powering the Tecno Camon 15 Pro is a non-removable 4,000mAh Li-Po battery which may last up to 33 hours of talk time while on 3G. It’s equipped with fast battery charging technology for quick top-ups.
The S5 Pro also runs Android 10.0 – user interface by XOS 6.0 – on Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 (12nm) chipset coupled Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and PowerVR GE8320 graphics processor. There are 2 variants in terms of storage. There’s one of 64GB ROM coupled with 4GB of RAM and another which is 128GB ROM coupled with 6GB of RAM.
The S5 Pro is also powered by a non-removable 4,000 mAh Li-Po battery which may not last as long as the Hot 9’s battery which is 5,000 mAh.
Tecno Camon 15 vs Infinix S5 Pro: Camera and Comm Modules
While some people care much about a phone’s chipset, CPU and RAM before buying a smartphone, some people only care about the camera and ROM (whether it’ll be enough to contain their pictures). Neither of these devices come with a “washy” camera.
The Camon 15 Pro features four lenses as the rear camera setup. They include one 48MP ultra-wide sensor as the main lens, 5MP, 2MP and QVGA which have the capacity to record videos at 1080@30fps. The front camera setup is a single 32 mega pixels fitted in a motorized popup box with a soft flash.

Tecno Camon 15 vs Infinix S5 Pro: Price in Nigeria.
For most people, the determinant for their choice of device is not so much the features it packs from factory but the amount of cash they can afford to spare for a smartphone. What use is a million specifications if you can’t afford it?? This brings us to the last stage. Pricing.
Unfortunately however, these smartphones are not yet in Nigeria, hence their prices are not yet official. These is probably due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Once the prices are out, I’ll definitely update this article.
